i was watching a movie and i stumbled upon a very common quote that i suppose everyone has heard before.
the eyes is the windows to the soul.
for some reason, which i can't think of any, that one line really sticks in my head until it prompt me to actually dedicate a blog post for it.
now, there seems to be a lot of debate regarding where this phrase originates. Shakespeare used it. DaVinci used it. but there's this one sculptor that elaborates on these words. it goes:
"The eye is the window of the soul, the mouth the door. The intellect, the will, are seen in the eye; the emotions, sensibilities, and affections, in the mouth. The animals look for man's intentions right into his eyes. Even a rat, when you hunt him and bring him to bay, looks you in the eye."
very deep and very true. indeed, the eyes and mouth plays an important part in one's impression. but what really bugs me is that whomever this phrase originates from have never seen the invention of contact lenses coming. :-D
just kidding. even with contact lens people can still see the emotion running through someone's eyes. its the movement of the eye that actually tells people what they think or what they are.
i once read or heard from somewhere that you can tell a lie when someone's eye shift to the left. it indicates either you are lying or you're about to lie.
i guess this phrase is one of the reason why i suck at eye contact. i seem to have the impression that if i made eye contact with someone, they can see right through me.
hence, i suck at eye contact.
some bitch is messing with me rite now,
will hear from me soon.
